|

The former WEC bantamweight champion, Miguel Torres (40-5) has signed with the newly formed organization World Series of Fighting.

As announced via Twitter the former champ will debut on the November 3 show. The event takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Torres went on a 20-0 run to begin his professional MMA career, until finally being derailed by Ryan Ackerman. He then went on another 17 run winning streak; picking up the WEC bantamweight championship and defending it three times. He eventually lost the title to Brian Bowles and since has gone 3-3 inside the WEC and UFC.

His most recent loss was against Michael McDonald at UFC 145 and was eventually let go from the UFC. He was originally slated to take part at the Titan Fighting Championships 26 event on November 2, but will no longer. He is expected to take part in a later date Titan event.

No opponent has been named to face Torres on the November 2 card. Although it hasn’t officially been announced the new fight league is expected to air on NBC Sports. World Series of Fighting is expecting to hold a press conference on Thursday in Las Vegas.
