UFC on FUEL TV 5 keeps getting its card shifted. Not just the UFC on FUEL card, but Gunnar Nelson in particular.
Nelson (9-0-1) was initially expected to take on Pascal Krauss at the event, but Krauss pulled out due to injury. It was then reported that Rich Attonito would be stepping in to face Nelson. As reported by MMAJunkie.com earlier today, Attonito was concerned with making weight, so DaMarques Johnson (16-11) will be taking his place.
The match-up between Johnson and Nelson is expected to be on the prelims.
Johnson looks to get back into the win column, after most recently losing by KO to Mike Swick at UFC on FOX 4. He has gone 1-3 in his last 4 fights and hopes to keep his job with the organization. Win or lose Johnson always puts on a show.
Nelson is undefeated in his mixed martial arts career and will look to continue inside the octagon. The Icelandic based fighter is a prodigy of Renzo Gracie and will make his UFC debut at this event. Nelson finished his last opponent, Alexander Butenko by armbar back in February. Prior to that fight he had not fought since 2010.
UFC on FUEL TV 5 goes down on Sept. 29 at Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
