Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC), the premier MMA organization in the Asia-Pacific region, has announced a multi-fight deal with Dustin Kimura, one of the top young MMA prospects from Hawaii, starting with an appearance at PXC-34, set for November 17th at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines. Kimura is undefeated in professional MMA competition (8-0), and is often talked about as the best Hawaiian fighter not currently in the UFC.
In a recent interview in the US, Kimura stated,
“I’m honored to be able to fight for an organization like PXC. They have a great roster of talent at my weight; I look forward to climbing the ladder starting in November.”
Kimura is a ground specialist, winning 5 of his 8 fights by submission and competes primarily at 145 pounds, an already stacked division in PXC, including Fil-Ams Mark Striegl and Harris Sarmiento, South Korea’s Jang Young Kim, and the current Featherweight Champ, Joe Taimanglo from Guam.
PXC-34 will be Kimura’s international debut, as he takes on Japan’s Guy Delumeau (16-7), an experienced fighter from the famed Gutsman Dojo in Tokyo who has made a name for himself in Shooto and Pancrase competition. According to Kimura,
“Guy is a very tough fighter; he will be the most experienced fighter I’ve faced yet. I am training very hard for this fight and can’t wait to give the Philippines crowd a show!”
Kimura will join other PXC fighters reigning from the Hawaiian Islands, including the highly ranked and undefeated Bantamweight, Russell Doane (8-0), young Hilo Featherweight, Toby Misech (2-1), and veteran Harris Sarmiento (34-23). Sarmiento is currently the reigning PXC Lightweight Champ and has fought for PXC since early 2011 in the Featherweight class as well. Kimura, Doane, Misech, and Sarmiento are all slated to compete at PXC-34 in Manila on November 17th.
According to PXC’s CEO & Promoter, E.J. Calvo,
“The Hawaiian Islands produce some of the toughest MMA fighters in the world, and we have great relationships with the best camps in the state. We are excited to welcome Dustin Kimura to our roster of some of the top young fighters in the world. All our fighters from Hawaii have UFC potential, and allow us to continue to match the best young talent in the region against each other and give our fans exactly what they are looking for.”
With 2 PXC fighters being signed to The UFC in the last 3 months, PXC has certainly established itself as a promotion giving opportunities to the best fighters in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to the PXC live broadcast in the Philippines nationwide, PXC is expected to provide online streaming of its events as well.
