A match-up between Stefan Struve and Mark Hunt was rumoured earlier this week. UFC Officials have confirmed the fight and it will take place at UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Japan.
The fight is expected to take place on the nights main card.
Struve (25-5) is coming off a big TKO win over Stipe Miocic in the main event at UFC on FUEL TV 5. That victory was Struve’s fourth in a row, including wins over Lavar Johnson, Dave Herman and Pat Barry. He is 7-1 in his last eight fights, all of which have come by stoppage.
Hunt (8-7) made the transition from K-1 to MMA back in 2004 and went 5-1 in his first six fights. Unfortunately, he went on a six fight losing streak, which included his UFC debut against Sean McCorkle. Since that loss, the New Zealand native has won three in a row against Chris Tuchscherer, Ben Rothwell and Cheick Kongo.
UFC on FUEL TV 8 is set to go down on March 3 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The Struve vs. Hunt fight is the only confirmed bout for the March 3rd card.
