Josh Janousek injured, bout with Michael Kuiper scratched from UFC on FOX 6 fight card

|

Earlier last week, MMASucka.com announced that former NCAA wrestler Josh Janousek would be making his UFC debut as a late replacement against Michael Kuiper. Unfortunately, Janousek was forced to withdraw from that bout with an undisclosed injury.

UFC officials made the announcement on Monday. Below is an explanation from UFC.com

Janousek was a late-notice replacement for opponent Buddy Roberts; Roberts had been a replacement for Caio Magalhaes; and Magalhaes was tapped to fight Kuiper when original opponent Thiago Bodao was injured. With the bout less than a week away, no replacement will be named.

MMASucka.com spoke with Janousek late last week and he was extremely excited about his opportunity in the UFC.

“I definitely want to be exciting and want to impress Dana and Lorenzo. I don’t want to come in there and lay and pray as people call it or as some of the guys that wrestle do. I don’t know if it’s sometimes the nerve or poor cardio that’s causing guys to do that, but it’s a lot different when you’re inside the cage than when you’re outside just watching. A lot of people say they want to be exciting, but then they’re not. That’s my goal is to be an exciting fighter and make a career in the UFC and not just have a one fight career.”

Lets hope Janousek makes a full recovery and we can see him make his octagon debut sometime sooner rather than later.
