So episode 3 starts out showing “Bubba” McDaniel calling out “King” Kevin Casey, and Casey expressing his feelings about being called out despite receiving a cut in the elimination fight. This was interesting for me because I don’t feel one should have a tough guy attitude when it comes to this tournament, especially when you have a house full of this much talent!
Next thing we see is how Uriah Hall’s past affects him now in his adult life. I can see how it would be hard to go from being degraded and ridiculed as a young child to where a simple joke would trigger so much anger in someone. When you are around a group of new people sometimes customs are just very different. Then we all get to see how Adam Cella has come along in his fight career. I was impressed that he was here because he has a ‘plan B’, so there is less pressure to become a star and he is just enjoying the ride.
We all know that we are in a sport that is 90% mental. No matter how much talent or athleticism you have, if you’re not in it mentally all the talents in the world won’t help anything!
So then we go to the fight (Uriah Hall vs. Adam Cella). I liked how Adam went out and let his hands go. He came to fight. He threw combos, controlled the ring, but there were times when Uriah’s strength and speed helped not totally give the round to Adam. Then was the nasty knockout. It was all because Adam made a very small mistake which very few fighters would actually be able to capitalize on. Hall’s ability to take advantage of the small error just shows how amazing his striking level is! Now Team Jones is down 0-2 and we have to wait to see what happens with Collin Hart vs. “King” Kevin Casey!!
