TUF 17 report: Episode four

|

The show begins with a package detailing last episode including that devastating hook kick from Urijah Hall and the building tension between Kevin Casey and Bubba McDaniels after Casey chose to fight Collin Hart over him.

Adam Cella, the recipient of the nasty kick from Hall makes his return with no recollection of the fight. Cella playfully approaches the Ring of Combat champ who is fast to apologize.

Casey discusses his choice to fight Hart over McDaniels, stating that it was because he has a cut and stylistically didn’t want to face a skilled striker.

Hart discusses his life and times, explaining that he was never an athlete through school but found an outlet in mixed martial arts and that he competes so that he can make a better life for his large family.

Casey walks into a room full of people discussing his career as a rapper which eventually forces a hilarious rap battle to break out. In the gym Casey prepares for the fight and is explaining that he has nothing against Hart, he’s just a person in his way.

The electricity in the building cuts out for a moment, giving Team Sonnen the bright idea to throw toilet paper on them in the worst prank in TUF history.

Both fighters made weight, when they went to have the pose down out of nowhere Hart throws up his middle finger, enraging Casey who felt disrespected.

Kevin Casey vs. Colin Hart

Round one:

Collin storms the gates, charging at Casey with a kick before slamming him to the mat. Hart looks for an arm triangle in side control to no avail. In Caseys guard he lands shots to the rib before Casey grabs his neck looking for a guillotine choke. Casey explodes, getting the fight back to the feet as they clich against the fence. Hart is effective with his elbows and Casey has success with his knees. A battle for position against the cage is what we’ve had for most of the bout. The round closes with Casey beginning to tag him with shots as Hart attempts a takedown before the round closes, 10-9 Hart.

Round two:

Casey opens as the aggressor this time, exploding with his shots before we are once again clinched up. Casey takes an elbow to the face that opens up his cut that is gushing. Casey scores with knees to the thigh before getting a takedown. Hart targets his wound with elbows. Casey is exhausted but looks for a neck in side control, leaving his head open to take a real nasty elbow. Hart gets back to full-guard and has ultimate control, Casey attempts to explode out of there but he is denied as the round closes with Hart pummeling Casey with short shots, 10-9 Hart.

Colin Hart wins by Unanimous Decision

With Hart’s victory the ball is in the court of Jones who selects an eager McDaniels to face Calvin Messick.
