Lavar Johnson cut by the UFC following failed UFC 157 drug test

|

It was announced earlier this week that UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson had tested positive for elevated testosterone levels following his UFC 157 loss.

The California State Athletic Commission handed Johnson a nine-month suspension and very shortly after it was announced by numerous sources that the AKA fighter had been released by the UFC as well.

Johnson (17-7) lost a unanimous decision at UFC 157 against Brendan Schaub. According to MMAJunkie.com his T/E levels following the loss were at 6.6-to-1 which according to the commission was consistent with the administration of a steroid.

Johnson did not mention in his pre-fight medical questionnaire that he was on TRT.

“Big” leaves the UFC with a 2-2 record and exits on a two-fight losing streak.
