MMA Junkie is reporting that Carina Damm and her management will indeed be appealing the six-month suspension and $550 fine issued by the Ohio State Athletic Commission. This came after Damm’s manager, Jason Ellis, contacted the site to advise them of his client’s denial of the charges against her. Ellis is also being reported as saying that Damm did not use any performance-enhancing drugs, stating.
Carina Damm appealing suspension
“I don’t have all the facts. I spoke with Carina and her husband briefly, and my understanding is that she’s not doing anything she’s not supposed to be doing. I was told that she isn’t, so I’m going to support my client and see the facts through.”
With the appeal meeting already tentatively scheduled for August 13th, and with reports that Damm was not forthcoming with the OSAC about her prior suspension in 2008 for using nandrolone, it is quite likely that the commission may choose to throw the book at her to makeĀ an example.
Carina Damm was suspended last week by the Ohio State Athletic Commission after her urine sample came back from the testing lab as not actually being human urine. It was noted early on in the chain of custody that something was not right, as the doctor taking the sample from the female attendant present while Damm gave the sample to Bernie Profato, the commission’s executive director, that the sample contained in the cup was “a little clear” and that the cup felt “cool” as opposed to warm.
