Heavyweights Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione were originally slated to square off at UFC on FOX 8 next weekend in Seattle, however an injury to Mitrione forced the organization to pull the plug on the fight. UFC officials have now decided to move the event to UFC 165 in Toronto.

Canadian reporter Dave Diebert brought first word of the changed date and Schaub confirmed it via his official Twitter account.

Schaub (9-3) will look to continue in the win column at UFC on FOX 8. He is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Lavar Johnson at UFC 157 in February. “Hybrid” looked to be on a fast-track to the top of the heavyweight division picking up four straight wins, however he then hit a road block and lost two in a row.

Mitrione (6-2) is coming off a very decisive 19-second knockout over Phil De Fries at UFC on FUEL TV 9. Following that bout he was suspended by the UFC for comments made on The MMA Hour regarding Fallon Fox.

“Meathead” has fought all of his professional fights inside the UFC’s octagon and started off his career on a 5-0 run.

UFC 165 is set to explode on Sep. 21st, 2013 in Toronto, ON’s Air Canada Centre. The main event is currently a light heavyweight title bout pitting the champion Jon “Bones” Jones against the first challenger of his generation, Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafson.
