|

“The Kid” will venture into enemy territory to face off with “The Warrior” in a featherweight clash set for the UFC’s return to the UK.

MMA Junkie confirmed the initial report, made by MMAFighting.com, yesterday.

Jimy Hettes vs Mike Wilkinson booked for UFC Fight Night in Manchester

Jimy “The Kid” Hettes (10-1) arrived in the UFC with a bang, using his fight with Alex Cacares at UFC Live 5 to announce his arrival with vicious rear naked choke. He would then go on to defeat Strikeforce veteran Nam Phan, before falling to to underdog Marcus Brimage in his last fight at UFC 152. A top-notch grappler, Hettes has scored 9 of his 10 wins by submission, including 4 by rear naked choke. Will “The Kid” be able to put the squeeze on Wilkinson and return to winning form?

Mike “The Warrior” Wilkinson (8-1) is another young fighter who made his way into the UFC via the TUF system. After losing in his first bout in the house, Wilkinson would go on to defeat Brendan Loughnane at UFC on FX 6 in his “official” debut for the company. A fairly well-rounded fighter, Wilkinson has shown capable grappling and capture 4 of his 8 wins by submission. Will he be able to make it 5 against the grappling wizard Hettes?

UFC Fight Night in Manchester goes down on Octobe 26th from the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England.
