UFC officials confirmed the match-up on Wednesday after dailytelegraph.com.au first reported it.

Rua (21-8) is currently riding the longest losing skid of his career at two-fights. Most recently “Shogun” was submitted by Chael Sonnen in the main event at UFC Fight Night 26. Prior to that he lost to current light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson.

Te Huna (16-6) was on a four-fight winning streak over the past two years, but had that streak haulted by Glover Teixeira at UFC 160. Before that the New Zealand native last lost was to Gustafsson in 2011.

UFC Fight Night 33 goes down from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on December 7. The main event is a heavyweight tilt between Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
