It was recently announced that Scott Jorgensen would be making the drop to 125-pounds and it’s now official. Jorgensen will square off against Ian McCall at UFC on FOX 9 this December.

UFC officials announced the flyweight match-up on Tuesday.

Jorgensen (14-7) has gone 3-3 since making the move to the UFC from his WEC days. He has notable victories over Ken Stone, Jeff Curran and John Albert. Most recently he lost to Urijah Faber at the TUF 17 Finale in April, his other two losses were to current interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao and number one contender Eddie Wineland.

McCall (12-4-1) was the number one ranked flyweight when the UFC first announced the 125-pound division. Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to find his groove inside the Octagon. His first test was against current division champ Demetrious Johnson even though it was announced as a loss, it was overturned as a majority draw. The two were forced to rematch and McCall lost, he then followed that up with a loss to Team Alpha Male product Joseph Benavidez.

No word as to where the Jorgensen vs. McCall fight will be place on the UFC on FOX 9 fight card.

UFC on FOX 9 is expected to go down from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. It will be headlined by Anthony Pettis looking to defend his strap for the first time against Josh Thomson. Also announced for the fight card.
