Nothing is official just yet, but MMASucka.com announced earlier this morning that Sergio Pettis has signed a deal with the UFC and it now looks as if he has an opponent in place.
As reported earlier the 20-year old would make his debut at UFC 167 and welcoming the younger Pettis brother to the Octagon will be British fighter Vaughan Lee. Brazilian news source Globo first reported the bout and MMASucka.com has since confirmed that verbal agreements are in place.
Pettis (9-0) claimed another victim this past weekend at a North American Fighting Championship event where he submit James Porter in the very first round. He is currently a title holder at 135-pounds with the North American Fighting Championship and at 125-pounds with the RFA.
Lee (13-9-1) is 3-2 inside the Octagon with his most recent performance being a loss to Raphael Assunção at UFC on FUEL TV 10 in June. Prior to that fight, Lee defeated Motonobu Tezuka via unanimous decision at UFC on FUEL TV 7 in front of his home country.
UFC 167 will take place on November 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main event is a welterweight title clash between champion Georges St.Pierre and long-waiting challenger Johny Hendricks. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other upcoming fights.
