Two up-and-coming bantamweights are set to collide when the UFC returns to Chicago, IL on January 25th next year, with Yaotzin Meza taking on Chico Camus.
UFC officials announced the fight earlier today.
Yaotzin Meza (20-8) showed the Zuffa brass that he had miles of heart when he first debuted, taking on Chad Mendes in a losing effort on only a week’s notice at UFC on FX 6. The MMA Lab member and training partner of Benson Henderson was able to turn his fortunes around with his next fight though, defeating John Albert by submission at UFC on FOX 8. Will he be able to make it 2 in a row against Camus?

Chico “King” Camus (13-4) has been on a similar trajectory to his opponent, losing to Dustin Kimura at UFC 156 before bouncing back with a decision victory over Korean prospect Kyung Ho Kang at UFC 164. The Roufussport trainee is multi-faceted, but has not had a finish victory since 2011. Will he be able to score a stoppage against Meza?
UFC on FOX 10 goes down on January 25th, 2014 at Chicago, IL’s United Center. The main event is currently a battle of lightweight contenders, with Josh “The Punk” Thompson taking on “Smooth” Benson Henderson. Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on this and other events.
