Daniel Cormier will be getting a stiff test in his debut at light heavyweight if rumors are to be believed. Word has come out that Cormier will be taking on Rashad Evans in what is expected to be the headlining bout of the upcoming UFC 170 card.
UFC officials have not yet confirmed this bout, but are expected to do so over the weekend.
Rashad Evans vs Daniel Cormier rumoured for UFC 170
Daniel Cormier (13-0) may not have had a fight at light heavyweight yet, but some people are already saying he should be fast-tracked towards a title shot. That’s because the former Olympic wrestler has plowed through 13 straight heavyweights, often making it look easy. Still, will Cormier be able to adjust to a new weight class and get a win over a very tough opponent in Evans?
“Suga” Rashad Evans (19-3-1) is currently riding high after getting back to back wins over Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen this year. The Ultimate Fighter Season 2 winner is on the hunt for a title shot again, and will need another big win to help his case. Will he get that win over the Olympian, Cormier?
UFC 170 is expected to take place on Feb. 22nd, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. The main event is expected to be a light heavyweight bout featuring the undefeated Daniel Cormier taking on Rashad Evans. Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on this and other events.
