Vancouver, BC – The main card action kicked off on NBCSN with Kalib Starnes vs. Dwayne Lewis.

WSOF 7: Kalib Starnes knocks Dwayne Lewis out cold in Round 2

Starnes started off the action with an inside leg kick and Lewis returned the favor. Lewis swarmed Starnes with a high-kick followed by a one-two combination, which didn’t phase Starnes. Starnes asked for Lewis to come at him and then followed with a big combination of his own which stumbled Lewis up against the cage. Lewis looked to land the big bombs, but Starnes just covered up and took them. With Lewis up against the cage Starnes landed a front kick to the body. Lewis then came out looking for the big bombs again. The two traded punches to end the round.

A few punches thrown by Starnes pushed Lewis back up against the cage, but the two returned to the center of the cage. Starnes pushed Lewis up against the cage, clinched and landed a big elbow that dropped Lewis clean.

“I saw a few times when I would let go and he would cover up against the fence, it looked like he was maybe ready to go. I heard a lot about his right-hand power. He knocked out a lot of guys. Once I felt it, it wasn’t really as hard as I thought it would be.

“I want to fight for the light heavyweight title. I’m here to fight for the light heavyweight title. Whoever has that, wherever they have it, I want to work my way up, and I want to fight for the title.

“These elbows, I don’t throw them that often. This time, I did.”
