UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis was expected to face Josh Thomson in the main event at UFC on FOX 9, however he was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury.

On Friday’s episode of AXS TV’S INSIDE MMA, Pettis gave an update on his injury and when we could expect to see him back inside the Octagon.

From what I understand and what the doctors are telling me, I could be out two to three months before I can actually start getting active and start training again. I’m looking at a four-to-six-month recovery before I can fight again.”
