Brunson (11-3) made his promotional debut at UFC 155 after coming over from Strikeforce. He started with a unanimous decision win over Chris Leben and followed up with a submission victory against Brian Houston at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3. Most recently, Brunson lost to Yoel Romero at UFC Fight Night 35 in January. Brunson won the first two rounds, but Romero was able to drop him with a left hook midway through the third round. That bout earned both combatants $50,000 for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

The Jackson’s MMA product was medically suspended indefinitely after a broken jaw in the Romero bout.
