The fight didn’t provide any major fireworks but was certainly entertaining for the duration of the five rounds.

Lyoto Machida outpoints Gegard Mousasi for lopsided Unanimous Decision victory

Machida used his trademark movement and unorthodox striking to full effect, while Gegard Mousasi, as always with his calm facade, was content with his counter punches.

It proved to be a mistake though as Machida, who was clearly the more active striker, did enough to warrant a Unanimous Decision victory on the scorecards.

Mousasi landed an illegal up kick in the fourth stanza but was not penalized any points for that.

Final Result: Lyoto Machida def. Gegard Mousasi via Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46)
