The internet went crazy when it was announced that UFC President Dana White was going to meet with undefeated women’s fighter Holly Holm over the UFC 171 weekend. However, after the meeting, White says the UFC is no longer interested in signing Holm.
White spoke with UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1 and Ariel Helwani reported that talks with Holm’s manager didn’t go too well.
“Not good at all. We’re not interested anymore.”
Holm (6-0) who transitioned over from professional boxing to mixed martial arts back in 2011 has amassed a six-fight undefeated streak. Most recently the Team Jackson’s-Winkeljohn’s Mixed Martial Arts product earned her first unanimous decision victory against Angela Hayes at Fresquez Productions: Havoc last December.
She is now set to take on Juliana Werner for the inaugural Legacy FC Women’s Bantamweight Championship on April 5.
White also mentioned on the FOX Sports 1 program that the organization isn’t in talks with either Gina Carano or Invicta FC champ Cris “Cyborg” Justino.
