Melvin Guillard signs with World Series of Fighting

|

He may be called “The Young Assassin,” but Melvin Guillard seems to be more like a cat. Recently released from the UFC, Guillard has landed on his feet and now signed with the World Series of Fighting.

The promotion released the news earlier tonight on their Twitter account, and provided FOX Sports 1/MMAFighting.com presenter Ariel Helwani with a photo of the actual contract signing to post.

Guillard’s record as of now stands at 31-13-2, with 2 no contests. He went 2-3 (with 1 N/C) in his last 6 fights with the UFC before being released. His last fight was a unanimous decision loss to former Blackzillians teammate Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night 38, and his last victory was a second round KO of Mac Danzig at UFC on FOX 8. Will Guillard be able to get back on track as he works towards WSOF lightweight gold?
