Arlovski (21-10, 1 N/C) has not been inside the Octagan for almost 6 years, but has been able to keep himself busy. Fighting in Strikeforce, Affliction, and WSOF, “The Pitbull” has been able to win 8 of his last 14 bouts – though it would have been 9 had it not been for a lack of clarity regarding ONE FC’s rules about soccer-kicking downed opponents. A recognized International Master of Sports in Sambo, the power-punching knockout artist will be looking to return home with a win. Will his heavy hands be enough to earn that win over “The Hybrid”?
Schaub (10-3) goes in to UFC 174 on a high note, after gaining his first ever submission victory over Matt Mitrione at UFC 165. Based out of the Grudge Training, Schaub is a also a BJJ brown belt who spends a good deal of time training with Rener and Ryron Gracie. “The Hybrid” also has dynamite in his hands, with 7 of his 10 wins coming by way of stoppage due to strikes. Will his explosive power bring him to a victory over the veteran Arlovski?
