A top-10 lightweight match-up has been set to headline UFC Fight Night 45, as Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller square off. MMASucka.com picked this match-up in their “What’s Next” piece for UFC 172 after Miller’s victory.
UFC officials announced the match-up on Friday morning.
Cerrone (23-6, 1NC) is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, with all three of those victories picking up post-fight bonuses. After a loss to Rafael dos Anjos in 2013, “Cowboy” tapped out Evan Dunham at UFC 167, knocked out Adriano Martins at UFC on FOX 10 and most recently finished Edson Barboza by first round rear-naked choke at UFC on FOX 11 in April.
Miller (24-4 1NC) also on a three-fight winning streak with one NC against Pat Healy. The New Jersey native fought only twice in 2013, but started off his 2014 with a bang in April against Yancy Medeiros at UFC 172. Miller was able to lock in a very deep guillotine choke midway through the first round to force Medeiros to tap.
UFC Fight Night 45 will take place on July 16 from the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
