Gray Maynard vs. Fabricio Camoes set for UFC 176

|

A lightweight bout has been added to the UFC 176 card set for the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, and it looks to be a good one. Gray “The Bully” Maynard will return to action to take on submission specialist Fabricio “Morango” Camoes” on August 2nd.

Brian Martin of the L.A. Daily News broke the story last night.

Maynard (11-3-1, 1 N/C), best known for his trilogy of fights with Frankie Edgar, is looking to rebound from the first 2 fight losing skid of his career. A wrestler by trade, “The Bully” can be expected to showcase his powerhouse takedowns and suffocating top control here. Will he be able to erase the stain of two consecutive TKO losses and begin one last run at the title by grinding out a win over “Morango?”

Camoes (14-8-1), like his opponent, is also coming into this bout on the heels of consecutive losses. The Brazilian, who splits his time between Gracie Humaita and Team Black House, is more of a finisher than his foe, with 11 victories by way of stoppage or submission. Will he be able to make it 12 with a win over Maynard?

UFC 176 goes down on August 2nd at the Staples Center in Los Angles, CA. The card is currently topped with a featherweight title rematch, pitting dominant champ Jose “Scarface” Aldo against the redemption-seeking Chad “Money” Mendes. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other events.
