If you want to gauge how this fight will go, look at how both men faired against their common last opponent, Lyoto Machida. Both Gegard Mousasi and Mark Munoz took cautious approaches against “The Dragon,” but only one of them escaped the first round conscious. As much as his wrestling is hyped, Munoz has not shown an ability to translate it over to MMA as well as we would have hoped – save for his bout with Tim Boetsch. Mousasi’s takedown defense – while still not stellar – has improved enough that he should be able to keep the fight standing and pick apart Munoz from distance en route to a decision victory.
