With Jones injured, UFC 178 will now be headlined by the UFC flyweight title bout between champion Demetrious Johnson and surging contender Chris Cariaso. The Johnson-Cariaso bout moves from its originally scheduled date of Saturday, Aug. 30 in Sacramento to Saturday, Sept. 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

UFC 178 also features Conor McGregor taking on Dustin Poirier in a can’t-miss featherweight bout. Other key bouts include Cat Zingano vs. Amanda Nunes in a pivotal women’s bantamweight title contender bout, Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero in a middleweight clash, and former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz returning from an extended absence to battle Japanese star Takeya Mizugaki. More information on UFC 178, including additional bouts, will be announced in the days to come.

Due to the UFC 178 main event change, refunds for the Sept. 27 card will be given upon request at point of sale only. Deadline for refunds will be August 22.
