It was announced yesterday that Jon Jones had been injured and forced out of his UFC 178 main event match-up with Daniel Cormier. Stepping up to the plate is the Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson, who will take on Chris Cariaso.

Fans and pundits alike wondered why and how Cariaso got this title shot. The oddsmakers see the fight being very one-sided as well.

If you are into betting sports then the underdog could be the way to go, as Cariaso comes in at a +900, with the champ “Mighty Mouse” sitting at an astounding -1375.

Johnson (20–2–1) will look to defend his title for a fifth time at UFC 177. He most recently won a unanimous decision against Ali Bagautinov in the main event at UFC 174 in June.

Many thought former title contender John Dodson would be next to face the champ, however an injury has forced him from that slot.

Cariaso (17-5) is riding a three-fight winning streak and since making the move to 125-pounds has gone 4-2. At UFC Fight Night 40 in May, Cariaso won a split decision against Louis Smolka.

UFC 178 also features Conor McGregor taking on Dustin Poirier in a can’t-miss featherweight bout. Other key bouts include Cat Zingano vs. Amanda Nunes in a pivotal women’s bantamweight title contender bout, Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero in a middleweight clash, and former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz returning from an extended absence to battle Japanese star Takeya Mizugaki.

UFC 178 goes down on September 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
