Yesterday we posted that Todd Duffee was cleared to return to action and would like to face Anthony Hamilton — well the heavyweight’s wish was granted and the two will face off at UFC 181.
Todd Duffee vs Anthony Hamilton set for UFC 181
ESPN.com confirmed the bout with UFC officials on Thursday.
Duffee (8-2) was released from the UFC in 2010 for unknown reasons. There were plenty of rumors, however after fighting for DREAM and Super Fight League, the heavyweight was re-signed to the organization and defeated Phil De Fries at UFC 155 in December of 2012.
Hamilton (13-3) made his UFC debut in June when he was stopped in the first round by Alexey Oleinik. In his sophomore appearance, the 34-year-old defeated Ruan Potts via second round TKO due to punches to the body.
The Duffee vs. Hamilton bout will likely take place on the evening’s preliminary card.
UFC 181 is set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on December 6. It will be headlined by a middleweight title bout between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort.
