Last week it was announced that former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre had been medically cleared to resume training following knee surgery. On Monday, St-Pierre returned to the Tristar Gym for Pro Practice.

Georges St-Pierre returns to training for first time since knee surgery
The last time fans saw “Rush” inside the UFC Octagon was in November of last year when he defeated Johny Hendricks in a five-round war at UFC 167 to retain the 170-pound gold. Following that fight, the 33-year-old decided to take a step away from the sport and think about his future.
Prior to walking away, St-Pierre (25-2) was riding a twelve-fight winning streak, dating back to 2007. Since winning the 170-pound gold, for the second time, St-Pierre has defended it nine times.
Tristar head coach Firas Zahabi says that the former champ will make a return to the Octagon, however St-Pierre has yet to confirm. Tristar’s sight on the 170-pound belt meanwhile, are firmly cemented in Rory McDonald.
