Tyron Woodley vs Kelvin Gastelum set for UFC 183 co-main event
Woodley (14-3) has gone 3-1 in his last fights, only losing to #2 170lb-er Rory MacDonald. He took out Josh Koscheck, Carlos Condit and Dong Hyun Kim all in the course of 367 days (fought Koscheck at UFC 167 on Nov. 16, 2013). He was very close to the title but was setback when he lost a lopsided decision to ‘Red King’, but got back in the win column when he took out Kim.
Gastelum (11-0) has been on a tear since signing with the UFC after winning ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, most recently with a win over Jake Ellenberger, his biggest fight of his short career, submitting him in the first round. The matchup is set to be the co-main event of UFC 183.
UFC 183 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 31, 2015. The event is headlined by the highly anticipated middleweight matchup between former champ Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz, and is expected to air live on pay-per-view with prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
