UFC bantamweight contender Eddie Wineland is set to return to the promotion after a year layoff against Bryan Caraway at UFC on FOX 16.
The Times of Northwest Indiana initially reported the matchup, and UFC officials confirmed the news on Thursday night.

Wineland (21-10-1) was knocked out by Johnny Eduardo last May and suffered a broken jaw. He has been sidelined since. Prior to that loss, he picked up a TKO win over Yves Jabouin.
Caraway (19-7) is coming off a decision loss to top bantamweight Raphael Assuncao last October in Halifax. Prior to that, he picked up a submission win over Erik Perez at UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Khabilov.
The card placement for the bout is unknown at this time.
UFC on FOX 16 takes place live from the United Center in Chicago, IL on July 25. In the main event, UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw defends his belt against Renan Barao.
