Vitaly Minakov will return to action on a Fight Nights card in Sochi, Russia on July 31 vs. Poland’s Adam Maciejewski.
This will be Minakov’s first fight in roughly 15 months since defending his Bellator title vs. Cheick Kongo at Bellator 115. Maciejewski has fought twice since then, but has not fought since October of last year.
Minakov (14-0) has 12 finishes and 2 decision wins to his name. One of those decision wins came in his last fight vs. Kongo, where he successfully defended his Bellator title. He is 5-0 inside the Bellator cage, including TKO wins over former champ Alexander Volkov, Ryan Martinez and Ron Sparks. He is 2-0 under the Fight Nights banner, including wins over Fabiano Scherner and UFC vet Eddie Sanchez.
Maciejewski (13-5-1) has not lost since 2008 and has picked up 7 wins since that time. This will be his debut under the Fight Nights banner, but he has competed under the IFL and KOTC banners, as well as the XFO, Fighters Arena and Thunderstrike Fight League banners. Among his 15 wins, he has 8 finishes.
The fight will be the main attraction of the Fight Nights Sochi event.
