Three Major MMA Promotions that are Not UFC

|

Given the huge publicity surrounding the Ultimate Fighting Championship, people tend to forget about other promotions that are alive and well outside its area of influence. Not even bookmakers cover their matches. In Europe, for example, it is far less popular than in the US, and there are no cage fighter action figures on sale anywhere. Oh well, there are so many things different about Europe (they do serve beer at the McDonalds, as John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction). Europeans, for example, can take on lady luck with table games at Royal Vegas Canada, something not available for us in the US. They can spend their time playing their hundreds of great games on their PCs and tablets, and make use of great promotions at online casinos that make our mouths water sometimes. Oh well, there are so many things different about Europe…In fact, I heard that Royal Vegas Casino in particular has great promotions that pay players big. It’s also really easy to enter these promotions. All you have to do is open an account with the casino and deposit money into your account, which gets created automatically when you sign up. Royal Vegas has fun casino games too. You can play online slots, table games (like poker, craps, blackjack, baccarat, and roulette), and win in special promotions which the casino runs regularly. Sound great if you aks me.

Three Major MMA Promotions that are Not UFC

But let us take a look at the top promotions outside UFC’s reach from different corners of the world.

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC) is a major MMA promotion based in London, England. The first one of its events was organized in July 2002, with big names like Jean Silva, Rosi Sexton, Matt Ewin and Paul Jenkins on the list of winners. In the years of its existence the promotion has expanded into several European countries and beyond, including Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Bahrain. US residents can follow the fights of the CWFC on the Fight Now TV.

The UFC has the CWFC to thank for discovering such fighters like Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping.

M-1 Global (or MMA-1) is a mixed martial arts promotion based in Russia. It is a major promotion, organizing up to 200 competitions yearly all over the world. It is the company behind the M1-Challenge, a competition with a series of events held in several countries, and the M1-Selection, a competition where new talent has the chance to be discovered. The list of champions includes fighters like the Russian Murad “Hunter” Abdulaev, Tunisian Mansour “Tarzan” Barnaoui or the German light heavyweight fighter Stephan “T-800” Puetz.

Jungle Fight is a promotion created in 2003 in Brazil. Founded by pioneering MMA fighter and long-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, Wallid Ismail, the promotion hardly ever leaves the country. Most of its events are held in Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, broadcast in the US on ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes. Jungle Fight is considered the best MMA and kickboxing promotion in the whole of South America.
