A 185-pound match-up has been set for Prestige FC 2 in Regina, as B.C.’s Micah Brakefield returns to the cage against Winnipeg’s Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz.
Micah Brakefield takes on Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz at Prestige FC 2
Brakefield (6-6) is coming off an unfortunate loss against Chase Degenhardt at Fight Night at the Corral in August. He had a great scramble to get a huge suplex, but was stunned with a punch that dropped him. He tried to bait his opponent in, however the referee thought he was out and called the fight. Prior to that loss Brakefield was on a two-fight winning streak, with submission victories over Josh Griffin and Brad Stewart.
Ksiazkiewicz (4-0) hasn’t fought since 2013, but was supposed to have a number of bouts lined up, including a couple of potential opponents at the first Prestige FC event. “The Iron Pol” has victories over a couple other B.C. boys — Ash Mashreghi and Dejan Kajic.
Three of Ksiazkiewicz four victories have come via submission and all six of Brakefield’s pro wins have been via submission. Don’t be surprised if this one hits the mat and we are impressed with some great grappling exchanges.
Prestige FC 2: Queen City Coronation will be held on Saturday, March 12th at The Orr Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, and will be headlined by battles for Prestige FC featherweight titles in both the men’s and women’s ranks.
