World Series of Fighting (WSOF.com) today announced a schedule of five live NBCSN televised event dates that will comprise the remainder of the first half of its 2016 schedule, as well as an all-new digital shoulder programming series that will immerse fans in the training camps of the world championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) league’s premier athletes.
“We are looking forward to an exciting year of world-class competition between some of the best Mixed Martial Artists in the world, and to giving fans, for the first time ever, an in-depth, behind the scenes look at what life is like for these incredible athletes when they are in camp, preparing for combat,” said World Series of Fighting CEO Carlos Silva.
Beginning with the action-packed WSOF27 event that took place at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. on January 23, World Series of Fighting will continue to roll out one event per month before breaking in May, and firing back up with WSOF31 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. onFriday, June 17, followed by WSOF32 at MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. on Saturday, July 30.
Additional information, including bouts for each event, will be announced soon, as will the schedule of live events for the second half of the year.
Live World Series of Fighting action will return to NBCSN on Saturday, Feb. 20with WSOF28: Moraes vs. Barajas that will be headlined by the return of reigning world bantamweight (135 pounds) champion Marlon Moraes (15-4-1) who will put his title on the line against ferocious contender Joseph Barajas(12-1).
