The critics have spoken by the masses about Phil “CM Punk” Brooks’ UFC debut and whether or not he will win or lose. The official odds are in and he has opened as a major underdog.

According to Bodog, Punk comes in as a +265 underdog, with his opponent Mickey Gall opening as a -300 favorite.

Gall hasn’t been very outspoken about his upcoming bout, however when speaking with FOX Sports, the 24-year-old made it crystal clear that he plans on finishing the fight early.

“I think I’ll finish him in one round, but I’ll be prepared to go three hard rounds,” Gall said. “I think I’ll be able to get him in one. That’s what I do, I get people in one. I plan to do some violence, some terrible things in the fight. I’m going to make it real ugly for him.”

Brooks (0-0) signed with the UFC in December 2014 and was expected to make his debut the following year. Unfortunately nagging injuries have forced Punk to sit on the sidelines for nearly two years.

Gall (2-0) impressed the UFC brass during a taping of Dana White’s “Lookin’ for a Fight.” He went on to make his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 82, where he tapped out Mike Jackson in just 45-seconds. That victory earned him the shot against CM Punk.

UFC 203 goes down on September 10 from the Quicken Loans Arena from Cleveland, Ohio. The main event is a battle between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem for the UFC heavyweight championship.
