Two top-ranked Canadian featherweights will square off in the Xcessive Force FC cage, as Jamie Siraj takes on undefeated prospect Justin Basra. Xcessive Force Fighting Championship 18 will take place in Penticton, British Columbia on July 21.

Siraj announced his match-up and contract signing via his official Instagram page.

Siraj (5-2) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, but like most Canadian pros has had a tough time lining up potential fights. The Tristar Vancouver product fought once in 2017 and is coming off a third-round submission over JT Donaldson at BFL 53 in January.

Basra (4-0) trains out of Elite Training Center in Calgary, Alberta and will take to the cage for the first time in 2018 against Siraj. The undefeated prospect turned pro in 2016 and has since amassed a four-fight winning streak. All four victories have come via stoppage, including his most recent a submission victory over Randy Turner to capture the vacant Havoc FC bantamweight championship.

Xcessive Force FC 18 was expected to take place in April, but for unforeseen circumstances has moved to July 21. Fans can catch all the action from the Penticton Convention Centre. A battle for the 145-pound title will take place, as Tom O’Connor takes on Jake Macdonald.
