UFC President Dana White was recently asked in an interview with TMZ Sports about the possibility of having a matchup between former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
White replied, “Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock Lesnar is very interested in Jon Jones.”

Jones and Lesnar, however, are both currently suspended for failed drug tests. Jones’ suspension came after he tested positive for the steroid Turinabol prior to his fight against Daniel Cormier in July.
Jones has since had his license revoked by the California State Athletic Commission. He is eligible to reapply in August 2018. However, the CSAC won’t accept an application until his US Anti-Doping Agency hearing is complete and Jones serves whatever punishment USADA decides to give him.
Lesnar’s suspension, on the other hand, came after he defeated Mark Hunt via Unanimous decision at UFC 200. Only a few days following that fight, it was revealed that he had tested positive for a banned anti-estrogen agent.
There are many obstacles in the way for both Lesnar and Jones to return to the octagon. Should this fight one day take place, there is no doubt it could be huge for both combatant’s divisions. The winner could be set to face-off against the winner of the main event at UFC 227. That bout is between current UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
