UFC Fight Night 135 Walkout Songs
UFC Fight Night 135 is upon us this week! The card will be topped by a lightweight bout between contenders Justin Gaethje and James Vick. The event will go down live from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. As always, there are people are needing help with their UFC Fight Night 135 walkout songs. With uniforms now de rigeur for UFC athletes, one of the few ways they have left to stand outas individuals is with walkout music. Some have had great walkouts in the past, but musical schizophrenia has led them away from it. Others just need a boost. That’s why I’m here. As MMASucka.com‘s resident musicologist, I’m here to offer suggestions that would help these fighters become more memorable as a brand. I’m even doing it publicly, for your entertainment. So, without further ado, here… We… Go!
Tim Williams
What he last walked out to: “Stranglehold” – Ted Nugent
What he should walk out to next: “Last Breath” – Helmet
This is getting ridiculous. “Stranglehold” will always be Joe Benavidez’ signature walkout song. So, sorry to you, Tim Williams. You may be called “The South Jersey Strangler,” but that’s not enough to take an established walkout song. If he wants to keep it rocking, and keep it on-brand, a good song would be Helmet’s “Last Breath.” You can hear it below.
Andrew Sanchez
What he last walked out to: “Big News 1” – Clutch
What he should walk out to next: “Big News 1” – Clutch
This is only the second ever time I’ve suggested a fighter stick with entrance music. Before his last fight at the TUF 26 Finale, I’d suggested that Andrew “El Dirte” Sanchez stop walking out to the same Ted Nugent song I called out Ted Williams for above. I’d brought a different song to the table, but “El Dirte” came to the table with one of the best songs in Clutch’s oeuvre. I hadn’t gone that direction because I was keeping it more thematic. Y’know, swap a song about choking for a song about a choke, that kind of thing. But “Big News 1” has a swagger to it, a swagger perfectly suited to Sanchez. He should continue to walk out to this song for the rest of his career. You can hear it again below.
