Golden Boy Promotions will venture into the world of MMA for their very first event, Liddell vs. Ortiz 3. The event is set to take place Saturday, November 24, 2018, from The Forum in Inglewood, California. Aside from the main event, the card does actually have some interesting fighters to keep an eye on. One of those is the Team Body Shop prospect, Walel Watson.

Watson will enter the cage Saturday as he takes on the 10-1 Ricky Palacios. The former UFC and Titan FC fighter, Watson, will look to take advantage of this matchup to springboard himself back into the limelight. Watson is dangerous on the ground with 12 of his 14 wins coming by submission. Palacios’ lone loss in his career is a first-round kimura in 2014. Watson also comes from one of the absolute best up and coming gyms in the world, Team Body Shop.

Training and Preparation

Antonio McKee, head coach of Team Body Shop and father of Bellator fighter AJ McKee, had quite the MMA career himself earning a record of 29-6. Antonio has even competed in MMA as recent as 2014. “I have the best team and coach in the world. I’m not worried about Ricky or any 135er in this world. I’ve been training with coach Antonio for seven months and he has really improved me as a fighter and as a man,” Watson told MMA Sucka. “I’m about to climb back to the top where I belong and I will be world champ!!”

“With AJ McKee, Aaron Pico, Adrian Najera, Marion Magee, Joey Davis, Baby Slice, and the rest of the Team Body Shop, why would I fear another man ever again?!” Watson stated. Watson belongs along with those names in the light of Bellator or any other major organization.

Fighting on a Monumental Card

“It’s very special for me to be on the very first MMA card by Golden Boy and to be on the main card with two legends. It’s truly a blessing and an opportunity to make some noise coming out of retirement,” Watson told MMA Sucka. Fighting under such a huge main event, what is Watson’s opinion on how the main event will go down? “Liddell is taking this KO all day. The Iceman is gonna freeze him!”

There are several layers to this card aside from the third Liddell and Ortiz clash. The Watson bout is definitely one of those as this is a huge change for Watson to show the world what Team Body Shop and many hardcore fans already know. Make sure to catch the event this Saturday, November 24, 2018, on Fite.tv and witness Watson fight to show the world he belongs back at the top.
