KSW 47 is still months away, slated for March 23, 2019, with the heavyweight main event of Mariusz Pudzianowski and Szymon Kolecki already announced during the KSW 46 broadcast earlier in December 2018. Just recently the potential co-main event was announced in a matchup of two former KSW champions. KSW 47 will be able to be seen on KSW.tv when the event draws closer.

Former champs collide at KSW 47

Former welterweight champions Borys Mankowski and Dricus Du Plessis are set to battle at KSW 47. The two former champions were actually scheduled to do battle at KSW 41 in December 2017. Mankowski ended up battling current champion Roberto Soldic. This matchup between Mankowski and Du Plessis completes a bit of a round robin. The three have all fought each other recently.

Mankowski has lost his last two fights in a row but they were to current champion Soldic at KSW 41 and to KSW legend Mamed Khalidov at the iconic KSW 39 show in front of 57,000 plus fans. Mankowski stands as KSW’s longest ever reigning welterweight champion and still has the ability to make another run at the title. A defeat of Du Plessis would put him right back into title contention.

Du Plessis will look to get back on track and return to the title matchup after losing his last outing to Soldic at KSW 45 in October 2018. The 24 year old South African has already been a two weight-class champion in EFC Worldwide. He has locked himself in as one of the hottest young welterweights in the world. This matchup will be absolute fireworks. KSW always looks to bring crowd-pleasing matchups and this one is no different.
