UPDATE – Cole Smith has officially signed with the UFC.

Rumors are running rampant that the pride of Squamish, British Columbia, Cole Smith has signed with the UFC.

The bantamweight is 6-0 as a professional and was the Battlefield Fight League bantamweight champion.

Smith (6-0) trains out of The Sound Martial Arts in Squamish, as well as Team Quest in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The 30-year-old turned pro after a decorated amateur career in 2016.

Five of his six professional victories came via stoppage. Most recently, “The Cole Train” faced fellow undefeated prospect Tyler Wilson and forced the Kingston, Ontario native to tap out due to a rear-naked choke in the very first round.

Word on the street is, Smith could be making his Octagon debut as early as May 4 in front of his home country in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
