MMASucka staff picks have reached its close this weekend. The final card of five sees ONE Championship: Century (Part Two) taking place Sunday, October 13th from the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan. This second selection of fights begins early morning at 4:00am ET (1:00am PT) in the United States on the Bleacher Report Live app. Check out any of our other four fight card picks from the other MMA events this weekend: RIZIN 19, Bellator 230, UFC Fight Night 161, & ONE Championship: Century (Part One).
The Fights
Two thrilling MMA title fights will be on the line, the main event featured at light heavyweight between champion Aung La N Sang and challenger Brandon Vera. N Sang currently holds belts at both middleweight and light heavyweight. This will be his first attempt at defending the 225-pound title, capturing it over Alexandre Machado in February of 2018. Three title defenses at middleweight followed, knocking out all three opponents including his most recent over Ken Hasegawa. His opponent, Vera, looks to become a two-divisional champion of his own as the heavyweight champ moves down in weight. Vera’s time with ONE Championship began all the way back in December of 2014 only competing four times since signing. Despite this, he has finished each opponent by knockout all within four minutes; the shortest just 26 seconds over Paul Cheng.
A rare tetralogy is set in the co-main event between current bantamweight king Bibiano Fernandes and challenger Kevin Belingon. Their first victory came in January of 2016, Fernandes taking it with ease by kimura in the first round. Belingon would then score six straight victories including the interim belt setting up their second fight in a title unification. A back-and-forth contest saw Belingon take the narrow split decision handing Fernandes his first loss in almost eight years. This led to their trilogy bout in March, but unfortunately things did not go to plan. Illegal elbows from Belingon in the third forced a disqualification, handing Fernandes back his title once more. Belingon will look to even the score once more while Fernandes hopes to get back to his dominant past.
