Back again for a Monday edition of MMA Rumors. With fight announcements, the odd piece of breaking news and more, we figured we’d change it up and throw some rumours at you. Today’s MMA rumours feature UFC London relocating, potential opponents for Tyron Woodley and how some UFC fighters could possibly be on a Cage Warriors card next week.
MMA Rumors
UFC London
Rumor: Ariel Helwani from ESPN tweeted out that the UFC is still working on a card for March 21st despite UFC London being cancelled. The card will be held somewhere in the United States and they are looking for fighters to compete on it.
This is an email they are sending out to managers and reps about this new card next week. As you can see, they are even open to signing fighters who currently aren’t on the roster to fill it up, as well. pic.twitter.com/qYcYCDvdyo

This is wild. Despite nearly every professional sports organization shutting down due to COVID-19 the UFC still wants to put on a show. They are now scrambling to find fighters to fill up the card and have under a week to do so. They also don’t even have a place for this fight to take place which is another huge issue. It’s highly unlikely that this fight card takes place, but if it does Woodley still wants to headline it.
Woodley Wants To Fight
Rumor: According to Ariel Helwani, Tyron Woodley still wants to fight in the main event on Saturday night, even though Leon Edwards won’t be fighting.
Just spoke to @TWooodley briefly.
He wants to fight. And he is ready to fight, he said.
He has shut off all media and didn’t even know Edwards was 100% out.
He has told his management he is interested in a particular opponent: pic.twitter.com/nZsELKyjyJ

Woodley allegedly told his management team that he wanted Colby Covington to replace Edwards in the main event. Covington responded on twitter and UFC fans thought they had a main event.
Word on the street is @LeonScott is out. The @ufc and America need a hero. Who wants see America’s Champ put the #MAGA cape on and beat the fuck out of @twooodley live on @ESPN next week for your entertainment and my own personal pleasure? ?????

However, Covington wasn’t the only fighter ready and willing to step in and fight Woodley on six days notice. Gilbert Burns and Rafael dos Anjos both stated that they wanted the fight as well. Burns literally just knocked out Damian Maia not even 24 hours prior at UFC Fight Night 170 and was calling for the fight with Woodley. To add more fuel to the fire, Burns hinted that he was offered the fight and accepted. This would be wild to see Burns fight Woodley a week after he beat Maia.
The fight has being offered! As always I said yes! On my way to Miami! Can’t wait to as soon as a land tomorrow to have a @ufc contract on my email! Waiting on you @TWooodley to say YES! @danawhite @AliAbdelaziz00 @seanshelby ?? Let’s go #AAA pic.twitter.com/hh8rH9cL3a

Cage Warriors 113
Rumor: MMA Junkie reported that with UFC London being cancelled, Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan is hoping to have some fighters from that card fight at Cage Warriors 113.

Dana White is unlikely to be very happy if he had to share some of his fighters with another organization but anything is possible. But let’s be real, the chances of this fight card even happening are slim due to COVID-19. If the UFC had to cancel their show due to the virus Cage Warriors will most likely have to do the same.
John Philips and Dusko Todorovic have been confirmed as UFC fighters fighting on the Cagewarriors card. As of yet, no other bouts have been announced.
Update: 2.
UFC bout 1: John Philips v Dusko Todorovic has been confirmed to take place @CageWarriors #cw113 Friday Night. The event will be broadcasted LIVE on @UFCFightPass as well as TV Networks around the World.— Graham Boylan ?? ☘️ (@GrahamBoylan) March 16, 2020
