Back again for another Monday edition of MMA Rumors. With fight announcements, the odd piece of breaking news and more, we figured we’d change it up and throw some rumours at you. Today’s MMA rumors feature Craig Jones taking on Vinny Magalhaes at Submission Underground and Thiago Santos wanting to fight Dominick Reyes for the interm light heavyweight championship.

Craig Jones vs. Vinny Magalhaes
Rumor: Chael Sonnen the promotor of Submission Underground hinted after SUG 12 that Craig Jones and Vinny Magalhaes will could meet in the Submission Underground Cage as early as next Sunday.

Uncle Chael to the rescue! As most of us are going stir crazy with the lack of sports on tv due to COVID-19, Sonnen is doing his best to keep his promotion pushing forward. This would be a fun match to watch, they were both involved in a tag team match at SUG 11however, Jones never saw any action as Nick Rodriguez and Magalhaes played cat and mouse in the centre of the cage.
Sonnen did say that the fight could happen as early as this Sunday and I know combat sports fans won’t complain about that.
Thiago Santos vs. Dominick Reyes
Rumor: With Jon Jones getting arrested it leaves a chance that he could be stripped of his light heavyweight championship. Thiago Santos tweeted out that he thinks he should be fighting Dominick Reyes for the interm light heavyweight championship.

The only way I see this happening is if Jones has to do jail time. I don’t just see the UFC stripping the championship from him for this. In fact I don’t know why people are giving this any thought, Jones is still the champion. But hey, I could be wrong.
If it did happen I think it could be an incredible fight. Both of these fighters came so close to defeating Jones. Which, yes I know that doesn’t mean much, but go back and re watch both of those fights and you won’t disappointed.
