Rich Franklin and Miesha Tate made their mark on American mixed martial arts through amazing careers that led them to World Championships. Now, they are marking their mark on the global stage as ONE Championship Vice Presidents.

They are doing so under the watchful eye of ONE Championship Founder, Chairman, and CEO Chatri Sityodtong. Two of the words they used to describe working for the most influential sports executive in Asia were “intensity” and “fiery.”

But working under Sityodtong, who will be at the helm for an upcoming season of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition, is challenging. He is a demanding leader who expects greatness.

Rich Franklin Flourishes with ONE

“You need to have thick skin in order to work for Chatri,” said Franklin. “If you have that kind of thick skin, then you can be not only a productive person in this company, but you can really flourish and grow.”

Tate also remarked on what the hardest part of working for Sityodtong is, “Living up to his expectations. But at the same time, he has a great way of ensuring that you are capable of delivering what it is that he hired you for.”

His strong leadership has helped steer ONE Championship to success as a force internationally. It has also given Franklin and Tate success in the front office.

Miesha Tate Makes Dreams a Reality

“The ability that I have to learn from those around me, and travel and experience new things yet still be a part of the martial arts world,” said Tate. “That’s really a dream come true for me.”

Franklin remarked, “I’m in the middle of doing a job that I never thought I would be doing. I have this project, and I have full control and the ability to refine this thing on a daily basis and make it better and better. That is the key element that keeps me really interested in my job.”

“He gives you the freedom to do the job that you need to do,” Franklin continued. “He doesn’t say this, but he lives by this. You have 100% freedom with this company, but you also have 100% responsibility for what you are to do.”

The charismatic leader continues to build ONE Championship with the assistance of Franklin and Tate as Vice Presidents into a global powerhouse.
