The world COVID-19 pandemic may have the MMA world slow to rebound, but KSW is making a huge move before they return to action. Today the Polish based MMA organization signed then-current Oktagon welterweight champion, Mateusz “Dynamit” Legierski. This huge addition makes for several key matchups in the lightweight division right off the bat.

Huge Addition to the KSW Family

Arguably Europe’s hottest MMA promotion just got that much hotter by adding Legierski. The 23 year old Polish star is currently 6-0 and leaves Oktagon as their lightweight champion. Five of his six bouts have ended by finish. The bout that did not was his most recent where he won the title against Miroslav Strbak. A veteran of over 28 professional bouts, Strbak went to split decision with Legierski. In a quote given to Oktagon, Legierski stated, “I’m more than happy of signing the contract with KSW. In such hard times we all have to be able to rely on two things: family and home. OktagonMMA is and always will be my family and thanks to KSW I think I will also have my home.”

Potential Future Bouts

Legierski enters the organization as an immediate top tier title contender. With Norman Parke the current KSW interim lightweight champion, it looks like his clash with champion Mateusz Gamrot will soon come to be with the double champ ready to get back to action. Legierski has fought at welterweight so it would not be a surprise at all to see Legierski jump in their with welterweight champion Roberto Soldic, who will fight absolutely anyone. Marian Ziolkowski would serve as a very interesting bout at lightweight. Ziolkowski was supposed to meet Parke at KSW 50 for the interim title shot but had to pull out due to injury.
