‘The Last Stylebender’ Israel Adesanya made his UFC 253 main event bout look easy. It took the champ just under two rounds to finish the number one contender Paulo Costa.
Adesanya utilized leg kicks to keep the Brazilian at bay for the first round, which led to a nasty striking combination in round two to seal the deal.
Leading up to the fight, the amount of trash talk that came out of Costa’s mouth was second to none. And then inside the octagon, he attempted to taunt Adesanya the entire first round. This led to a Tweet from the champ on Sunday morning.
Israel Adesanya didn’t need to taunt at UFC 253
Imagine if I was taunting as much as Costa after all that shit he was talking…
The amount of shit I would cop from the internets hahaha.
I’m still in the air, I ain’t even started yet.
He had all the preflight memes.
I’m gonna go in on his ass…oh wait 😂😂😂— Israel Adesanya (@stylebender) September 27, 2020
It was very clear that Costa was tentative in the fight, as Adesanya is known as a counter striker. But it was surprising that he had little to no engagement at all.
The 31-year-old undefeated champion took to Twitter once again on Sunday morning to throw a little shade at Costa. This came as retaliation to an incident that occurred at the official UFC 253 weigh-in ceremony.

Adesanya has proved that he is without a doubt one of the best UFC middleweight champions of all-time. At 19-0 in his MMA career, Adesanya made a splash inside the UFC cage in 2018 and there was no looking back. He is 9-0 in the octagon, with seven bonuses and has defended the 185-pound title twice.
