The UFC 256 preliminary card has taken a hit, as Angela Hill tested positive for COVID-19. The women’s strawweight announced the positive result on her Instagram page.

Hill was scheduled to fight against fellow straw-weight contender Tecia Torres in a highly anticipated rematch but broke the news on Sunday that she will not be participating.  According to the American, she had took every precaution to not contract the virus during training camp but said there was ‘virtually no social distancing’ in MMA training.

After falling short on back-to-back split decision losses to Claudia Gadelha and Michelle Waterson earlier this year, Hill (12-9) was looking to get back to winning ways at UFC 256.  Torres (11-5) was coming off a decision win over Brianna Van Buren back in June.

There is no word yet on whether the UFC is looking to reschedule the fight or if the promotion is looking for a new opponent for Torres.

UFC 256 is happening on December 12th at the UFC APEX, Las Vegas.  The main event will feature Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno after both competed just three weeks prior at UFC 255.
